MACAU DEVISING THEATRE WORKSHOP 2007
Based on the Greek tragedy Antigone, this nine-day devising workshop explored the different elements that come together when making a theatre performance.
The workshop explored the interpretation of the text, acting, body expression, movement and the non-verbal sensitivity between performers.
Antigone's brother lies where he fell in rebellion against the state, and King Creon - her uncle - outlaws his burial. Her appalling dilemma: obey Creon, and offend against the gods or follow her heart, and plunge her accursed family into a fresh cycle of violence.
There was a final presentation showing to an invited audience at the end of the workshop.
