11 Voyagresses
It is her, but it is also you and me.
Online Screening "The Making of...VOYAGES"
The stage production “11 Voyagresses” traces the process of turning dreams into reality.
20 years ago, Theatre du Pif collaborated with a group of women from Tuen Mun to stage "On the City Train She Stand" and "Gateway", deeply moving audiences and acclaimed as “Community Theatre at its best" by The South China Morning Post.
Two decades later, the women reunite on stage once again. With memories of the past and new reflections on life, they share their different journeys—this time as performers—supporting one another to bring their stories to life in the theatre.
In one radiant summer, they rekindled the unique charm and possibilities of community theatre. Partnering with video director Amos Lee and Joe Lim, documented their creative journey and inner landscapes in a filmed production diary. The result is “The Making of…Voyages,” a sister video work to “The Making of…Gateway,” joyfully completed!
Premiere audience sharing:
“As someone who grew up in Tuen Mun, I feel very moved. It offers a perspective to better understand my parents. After going home, I even talked more with my mom.”
“You can really see the thought and effort put in by the filming team.”
“So much love, sincerity and humanity in the entirety of this admirable project.”

Performance
Long, long ago, a generation came to Hong Kong with the resilience to overcome any challenge.
A while back, many around them returned to the Mainland, seeking new opportunities.
Not so long ago, a generation strived in this city, moving forward.
And soon after, those around them searched for their own paths.
Through it all, the women at home experienced all the ups and downs, the dangers and triumphs.
Twenty years ago, Theatre du Pif collaborated with a group of women from Tuen Mun to stage "On the City Train She Stand" and "Gateway", deeply moving audiences and acclaimed as “Community Theatre at its best" by The South China Morning Post.
Now, after two decades, they reunite on stage, bringing their memories and new insights to share their life journeys.
Their stories are not just about individuals or families; they are a reflection of this city. We invite you to join the continuation of this journey.
